AKRON CHILDREN’S MUSEUM IS RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR

WITH GLOWING FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!

Akron, OH. December 20, 2019- Akron Children’s Museum welcomes families for a fun-filled GLOW PARTY New Year celebration on Sunday, December 29th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Museum visitors will enjoy a glowing good time during this after-hours event with special hands-on activities and featured guests! This is an event the whole family will enjoy and is made possible by the generous support from ACME Fresh Market, RSVP Food and Party Outlet, Metis Construction, and Meghan McDonald-State Farm Insurance.

Guests are encouraged to help spread the spirit of the season by bringing an item or two (new with tags) to help fill Kylie’s Bags of Love. These bags will be given to patients in the Akron Children’s hospital.  Consider donating boy/girl socks, small stuffed animals, card games, play dough, small crafts, lip balm, nail polish, journals, pens, coloring books, etc. Executive Director, Traci Buckner, said, “The ability to give is one of the greatest gifts of the season. We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with Kylie’s Bags of Love by giving to children in our local hospital. This event will certainly be one for the memory books! We hope families throughout our community will join us to celebrate a new year of learning and play at the museum.”

In addition to exploring the museum’s 22 interactive exhibits, visitors will meet Kristen, a Balloon Artist from Everything Balloonz, and Josh the Juggler. Guests can design glow-in-the-dark cookies, get their face painted, participate in a fun scavenger hunt, and even conduct glow-in-the-dark experiments! A special appearance from Glowing Rapunzel and Flynn, from Part of their World LLC will help get the dance party started with DJ Earl of Brooks Entertainment. Guests will want to make sure to capture a  memory of the evening with a photo at the One T Entertainment photo booth station before the ball drops at 7:59 pm! This amazing event is great fun for families with children ages 3-12!

Tickets for this holiday event are going fast: only $10 for general admission and $15 for all access (includes the new Monster Mission Course). Guests are encouraged to spread the joy of the season by posting pictures at the event on social media using Hashtag #Glowin2020 and tag @akronmuseum on Twitter, @akron_childrens_museum on Instagram, and @akronchildrensmuseum on Facebook.
